Hi there, I am Chiara
Role: project manager. I am a parent and an expat residing in Rome, Italy.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Italy wasn't part of the long-term plan. Like many expat relocations, it began as a job opportunity and quickly grew into something much grander.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more convoluted than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines took shape. We found places that fit us, met other families, and began building something that felt stable.
Why I Built Quiet Brook Form
Most information online was either corporate-level relocation advice or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical guidance based on real life in Italy.
What This Website Covers (And Not)
This site is:
- Practical experience from life in Italy
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated when something truly changes
This site is NOT:
- An official tourism resource
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- A generic travel blog
Future Outlook
Our time in Italy continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Rome or anywhere in Italy, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Cheers,
Chiara
